This was Joel McNeely’s “friendship theme” from the score of the film - and he suggested we could write a lyric for it and turn it into a closing credits song. Lyrics by me and Valerie Vigoda, vocal by Méav Ní Mhaolchatha, music by Joel McNeely, produced by David Downes.

My second half of 2019 was dominated by researching, listening, and coming to fall in love with the music of Sister Rosetta Tharpe. I did the orchestrations and arranging for this production, my first large-scale orchestration gig since BROADUS in 2014. It was nuts, and it ate my life, but I’m so proud of the results, the show, the cast and crew. I think this one has a bright future.

"Great Moments In History (But Only The American Parts)"
a song for Sam the Eagle and the Muppets. Disney World (2016, ongoing) - written with Valerie Vigoda.

Val and I were tasked to write a song that could open and end every Disney princess story ever - and this is the result! It plays 6 times a day at Disneyland.

I wrote this song with Valerie Vigoda and I also arranged all the Disney canon songs throughout the half-hour show. Orchestration by Joel McNeely.

This was a co-write with Valerie Vigoda, Scott Erickson, and Fabrice Ferrer.

I wrote this song while seated on a Bolt Bus from LA to the Bay Area in 45 minutes in 2015. It is seen and heard by zillions of people at Disney World and plays five or six times a day. Blows my mind.

ableton live as a live looping tool
I have designed live looping rigs for electric violinists following the success of my long-time partner and collaborator, Val Vigoda. Depending on the client, I have done any and all of the following:
- writing looping arrangements
- program midi foot pedals (FAMC Music Liquid Foot, Aeros Loop Studio)
- program Ableton Live
- set up effect switching systems
- prepare timed midi signals to trigger projections
- hand-holding through the craziness and delight of a complicated midi looping rig
Clients:
- Val Vigoda (arranging, producing, co-writing, system design, programming)
- Savannah Jo Lack (programming, system design, troubleshooting)
- Eliza Jane Schneider
- Janice Martin
